Kanye West Approached Nintendo to Collaborate, They "Politely Declined"

Former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime revealed earlier this yr that Kanye West approached him at an E3 "many years ago" in hopes of collaborating with the company on making a game. First reported by Nintendo Everything, this data came from Fils-Aime's podcast with gaming journalist Harold Goldberg,Talking Games With Reggie and Harold.

Co-ordinate to the episode, Due west came to the Nintendo booth at E3 and spent some time talking with Shigeru Miyamoto and requested to encounter with Fils-Aime. The two met together along with West's wife, Kim Kardashian, to talk about a potential collaboration.

Fils-Aime said:

"Part of it was talking about what he was upward to, he was experimenting with a piece of video game content; he wanted reactions to it. He comes out and says, 'I want to work with Nintendo.' We had and so many different projects at Nintendo going on, the possibility of doing something with Kanye only wasn't at that place, and then I had to detect a way to politely decline this opportunity to work with him. I told him, 'Kanye, yous don't want to work with us because nosotros're tough, we're hard. All nosotros exercise is push for the very best content. We would not be the type of partner y'all would want to work with.' And he looks at me and says, 'Reggie, you're exactly the type of partner I want because of that reason!' It's like, 'Oh my gosh.'"
